Check out R.A.T. (Radically Alternative Thinking) Rod cars built by Charlotte-area students this Saturday at the 2017 Charlotte Mini Maker Faire.

R.A.T Rods are made using other vehicle parts and items found in junkyards. The parts are then welded together for a perfect fit as students use critical thinking and creativity to develop a R.A.T Rod that’s operable and safe to drive.

The R.A.T. Rod challenge is a part of Charlotte STEAM, a non-profit organization aiming to prepare students to be next generation innovators.
